About the role

The Regulatory Director – Flavors / Taste  will work on strategy, applications, product registrations, customer questionnaires and attend trade shows.  You will be the business enabler for Flavors / Taste Business to be successful.

At the Kerry Center in Beloit, we are a leader in taste and nutrition for the global food, beverage and pharmaceutical industry.  We have approximately 700 employees at this location that in roles such as regulatory, RD&A, finance, procurement, supply chain and customer care.  This location is commutable from major cities such as Milwaukee, Madison & Chicago.  If you’re looking to build a career in Regulatory with a team you can have some fun with, we might be the team for you.

Key responsibilities

The Regulatory Director is a key leader of our management team and will provide robust Regulatory leadership to support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and processes.

  • Lead a team of regulatory specialists and managers to assure compliance of Kerry products with appropriate regulations and to serve as a regulatory resource to internal and external customers.
  • Design regulatory strategies to support business decisions and claims, to ensure product development. Keep peers and cross functional leaders apprised of expected changes to the regulatory landscape affecting the performance of existing and new products.
  • Develop and lead a regional regulatory organization within Kerry. Lead Regulatory KPI reporting, trending and review. Lead strategic vision for the RDA function through maximizing the Regulatory landscape in which we operate. Facilitate the promotion and protection of Kerry IP. Represent Kerry in negotiations and discussions with the key industry regulatory decision makers and competent authorities as required.
  • Maintain and assure data integrity of technical databases related to formulations and finished products. Assure accurate, timely, and professional communication of information to customers. Understand, respect, and act ethically when dealing with matters related to regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and skills

There are a few requirements you need to be successful in this job:

  • Background in Taste / Flavors
  • PhD in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry of other related science discipline or 10+ years’ experience (education & work combined) as functional leader for a global Taste/Flavors business or related industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership and management experience with at least 6 years’ experience leading teams of 15+ employees.
  • Ability to provide management and leadership of the Regulatory organization in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and processes to gain product approvals worldwide.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills including assuring the effectiveness of functional and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in interpreting and applying regulatory standards and influencing regulatory changes through association and governmental interactions.
