About the role

The RD&A Scientist will work on the development of  seasoning applications for meats. At the Kerry Center in Beloit, we are a leader in taste and nutrition for the global food, beverage and pharmaceutical industry.  We have approximately 700 employees at this location that perform various task such as finance, procurement, supply chain and customer care.  This location is commutable from major cities such as Milwaukee and Madison. Key responsibilites

The Scientist will lead and participate on proactive meat seasoning innovation projects and responsive customer-initiated projects.  This will be achieved by working in a lab & pilot plant and having an understanding of dry ingredients and the different raw materials to make blends (flavors).  You will report to the RD&A Manager.

  • Conducts basic research, and new product research and development of foods.
  • Develops new and improved methods and systems for food processing, production, quality control, packaging, and distribution.
  • Studies methods to improve quality of foods such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods.
  • Develops food standards, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications.
  • Tests new products in test kitchen and develops specific processing methods in laboratory pilot plant.

Qualifications and skills

  • Do you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science or Meat Science?   
  • Are you able to consume & taste meat products?
  • Are you open to Travel 10 – 20%, to customer locations and plant?.
  • Experience with meat / meat seasoning is preferred.
