About the role
The National Account Manager – Specialty Beverage Chains will be responsible for positioning and promoting Kerry’s product portfolio with a mix of Top 200 Foodservice Specialty Beverage Chains as well as Regional Beverage focused Accounts. The incumbent in this role will work extensively with the customer’s marketing, product development and buying teams to design value-added product solutions through a custom, collection and branded portfolio. This individual should be entrepreneurial and have a desire to treat these set of accounts as their own business. Creativity, opportunity identification, value proposition selling and excellent customer management skills are needed to continue, support and grow existing platforms and identify new opportunities and categories where value-added products can be created. The successful candidate must be able to speak confidently to Kerry’s capabilities while matching these capabilities to the objectives of the customer.
- This position reports to the Director of Sales and does not supervise staff.
- Manage and direct all sales efforts as National Account Manager for assigned customers across varying US Geographies.
Key responsibilities
- Defend and expand existing base of Customized and Branded business at current active customers through account penetration and increasing menu usage.
- Identify opportunities and develop new and profitable Collection, Customized and Branded business at targeted accounts by identifying value added solutions to meet customers menu needs. Establish sales market plans and manage the sales execution to achieve objectives. Manage spending to assure the delivery of sales results within approved spending levels.
- Manage customer relationships at all levels at assigned chain accounts. Focus on generating profitable business by developing customer strategies that address customer goals, objectives, and culture. Manage customer agreements that deliver against annual operating plans.
- Provide innovative, customer focused ideas to Customers by understanding their brands, platforms and strategies.
- Manage and orchestrate all customer opportunities and activities, utilizing the appropriate resources to win. This will include a large portfolio of diverse projects across Kerry functions in order to service Customers using Salesforce.
- Develop and execute strategic plan to optimize the use of all pertinent Kerry technologies.
- Develop and execute on pricing strategies
- Participate in the development, implementation and achievement of annual budgets.
- Analyze business trends to develop business growth strategy and manage total opportunity pipeline.
- Effectively work across multi-functional teams within Kerry to promote and deliver best-in-class service.
Qualifications and skills
Requires strong verbal and written skills. Exhibits enthusiasm, self-motivation, and strong initiative, with ability to be a team player. Concise and timely communications both internally and externally. Able to integrate written and verbal skills into the sales process. Strong presentation skills. Effectively promote Kerry within the foodservice/specialty beverage community.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain or Food Science or related field desirable)
- 5+ years of experience successfully managing Top 200 Chain Customers in a foodservice sales role
- Background in beverage applications
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Able to integrate written, verbal and presentation skills into the sales process.
- Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
Home Based position. Willingness to travel to other Kerry office and manufacturing facilities in addition to the offices and manufacturing facilities of the customer up to 50% of the time. Other travel may be required on an ad hoc basis.
The typical hiring range for this role is $123,859.00 to $213,784.00 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
