What You'll Do

Job Summary:

The Compensation Manager, NA plays a key role for the Rewards COE and is responsible for managing the compensation function for North America (U.S. and Canada). This is a hands-on, subject matter expert role responsible for the management, design, implementation, communication, analysis, compliance and administrative oversight of all compensation programs and policies.


  • Recommend compensation strategies and design improvements for all employee levels, which are aligned with the global rewards strategy.  
  • Manage the successful delivery of all compensation programs and proactively propose enhancements to broad-based pay, short term incentives, long-term incentives, sales incentives, recognition plans, performance management, etc.
  • Ensure alignment, compliance and cost effectiveness of existing compensation programs, policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Oversee core jobs, market analysis, job evaluation, salary surveys and pay grades to ensure the rewards programs is market competitive and connected with the global framework.
  • Consults and advises HR Business Partners and other associates about pay decisions, offers, policy and guideline interpretation.
  • Collaborate with peers, HR and line managers on the annual pay planning process, incentive payments, performance management, program enhancements and other projects.   
  • Develop, coordinate and prepare materials for management and compensation committees.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while producing quality and timely deliverables.
  • Proactively and creatively ensures relevant communication of performance management, compensation plans and policies to maximize understanding and engagement. 
  • Oversee plan modeling, budgeting, analytics and incentive calculations.
  • Primary compensation contact and resource for international assignments, union issues, mergers and acquisitions.
  • Direct and provide a high level of customer service to internal customers.
  • Partners with HRIS and the service center to ensure system configuration and business processes are designed to deliver accurate compensation information and are intuitive for participants.

Qualifications and skills


  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business or Human Resources.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in compensation with at least 5 years of experience managing a compensation function is required. 
  • Working knowledge of North American (U.S. and Canada) pay regulations and laws is required.
