About the role
The Distributor Development Manager will be responsible for the achievement of annual food and beverage sales volume and operating profit objectives within their assigned account base. Responsible for leading sales initiatives at the Headquarter level of multiple Foodservice Distribution, Redistribution and Cash & Carry outlets across all Kerry Technologies. This is a remote role with frequent travel to customers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and successfully implement sales strategies aligned to achieve profitable category volume growth through Broadline and Specialized Distribution.
- Lead new initiatives in the areas of Category Management/ RFP of Manufacturer and Distributor Brands.
- Drives innovation opportunities and pipeline with key strategic growth customers.
- Effectively manages pricing strategy and negotiates trade spending, while maintaining responsible expense management and capital budgets to achieve overall sales and profit objectives.
- Utilize market data, consumer insights and competitive intelligence to identify high growth opportunities.
- Works with the highest levels at customers to maintain key industry contacts with other manufacturers, buying groups and trade associations.
- Prepares and conducts regular business reviews and trend presentations with key customers. Negotiates distributor HQ marketing/trade agreements and takes charge of category management initiatives.
- Develops strong working relationships/collaborates effectively with key cross functional partners in the marketing, service, supply chain and finance organizations in order to meet the volume and profit goals for the Foodservice Brands unit.
- Coordinates tactical field sales execution of corporate account initiatives, relative to strategic plans agreed upon by corporate distributor partners.
Qualifications and skills
- College degree is highly preferred.
- 5+ years food service sales experience required.
- Foodservice distributor headquarter management experience preferred.
- Results orientation to volume and profit; ability to translate corporate direction into field activity.
- Strong computer skills particularly in relation to analyzing sales data and trade management systems.
- Clear and effective written communication and presentation skills in group settings.
- Overnight travel required.
The typical hiring range for this role is $120,838-$186,637 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
