About the role

At the Kerry Center in Beloit, we are a leader in taste and nutrition for the global food, beverage and pharmaceutical industry.  We have approximately 700 employees at this location that perform various task such as finance, procurement, supply chain and customer care.  This location is commutable from major cities such as Milwaukee and Madison. Responsible for executing the regional health & safety, QHSE COE and business strategic initiatives whileImplementing health/safety/environment objectives & work plans in line with the COE programs

Communicate HSE incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough and effective manner
Assure compliance to internal HSE policies and applicable local regulations
Responsible for HSE talent management, development program and participate in goal setting and performance appraisals across cluster
Provide support to cluster by serving as a subject matter expert & assisting facilities with inspections, communications & other interactions with regulatory agencies
Key responsibilities

The HSE Director is extremely important to us.  We will rely on you to lead HSE initativies and help the business to see opportunities. The successful candidate must ensure that there is a clear long-term strategic plan for the business which is aligned with the overall HSEl plan for North America and the global organization. The ideal individual will conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions and direct cluster Health & Safety & environmental activity to ensure legislative compliance is achieved through the development & implementation of appropriate policies, practices and trainin.In addititon, they will be resposible for:

Lead investigations of health and safety and environmental incidents. Elevate serious incidents to the Regional HSE lead
Perform Health and Safety Audits and monitor where any follow up action is taken when required
Monitor cluster HSE KPIs and assist sites in attaining their HSE Performance Targets (KPI’s)
Communicate HSE incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough, and effective manner

You will be able to rack up some travel miles in this role - Travel 40%

Qualifications and skills

To get the most of this role at Kerry you’ll need to come with knowledge in environmental healh and ability to influence up.  You’ll also meet these minimum requirements:

•Bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety or another related science. Masters degree is preferred
Background in Health & Safety & environmental regulations, concepts, industry & market trends
Knowledge and experience in relevant HSE management systems & organisations: OHSAS 18001, OSHA  BS8800, ISO 14000
Knowledge of Global customer sustainability initiatives, regional sustainability efforts & Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA)
Background in risk assessment and behavioural safety
Ability to read, understand, and decipher technical information in determining applicability to business processes
Able to overcome resistance to change
Strong leadership and team building experience across a diverse organization
