About the role

This position will be responsible for growing our bakery business in the North America region and will be a key part of the customer engagement team. This person must be a strong leader who can deliver subject matter expertise in the bakery marketplace on Kerry’s strategic growth pillars, key technology & products in our portfolio while engaging with multiple functions with our customers such as R&D, Operations and Regulatory.  The key success factors for this role will be having a mindset of collaboration, pipeline execution, problems solving, creativity and customer-centric approach while consistently being in front of our customer and building strong relationships as part of a high performing team.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and driving the growth of Bakery EUM across NA in alignment with our strategic pillars that include Preservation, Taste, Enzymes and Emulsifier.
  • Directing and engaging with customers on creative and proactive solutions to help them grow their business and/or solve a business or technical challenge where our expertise enables them to meet their consumers or operations needs
  • Work hand in hand on the bench, pilot plant and/or customer operations to troubleshoot, problem solve and/or commercialize Kerry’s technology to develop and deliver new business
  • Link globally with Bakery EUM counterparts and technology portfolio managers to ensure we are leveraging knowledge from other regions and implementing those that are relevant.
  • Working as a technology partner within the EUM teams providing SME knowledge, resources to support key projects and support when needed at customer engagements
  • Collaborate with key global and regional technology leads to deliver technical advancements to the EUMs and develop a go-to-market plan to our customers
  • Work closely with commercial team and drive strategic growth initiatives to deliver growth in key accounts by translating our Bakery expertise & capability into relevant, profitable and winning solutions
  • Work closely with the Marketing and R&D teams to effectively position, outline and assurance relevance of Kerry’s key points of differentiation and value propositions so they resonate with key customer stakeholders
  • Work with key bakery technology owners and R&D to ensure the appropriate portfolios & collections are available and commercially ready for execution with our customers.
  • Own and grow pipeline of key bakery technology opportunities along with EUM and commercial teams across the NA region
  • Collaboratively develop business cases for Bakery innovation needs where customer and marketplace opportunities exist to support research and production development requirements
  • Structure and teach the Commercial teams on our Bakery Portfolio & Products, to enable them to understand how to better identify, target and grow pipeline with their customers.
  • Develop strong cross functional relationships within Kerry, to execute projects and drive the Bakery EUM through the lens of pipeline execution and development with a strong understand of end to end commercialization

Qualifications and skills

  • BS and/or MS, Ph.D in Bakery & Food Technology/Science or other related fields
  • Commercial professional with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Bakery applications & operational experience of at least 5 years on Taste, Ingredients or Functional Systems & Solutions
  • On the bench R&D experience adjusting bakery formulations & processing instructions to commercialization products in a bakery factory / operation
  • Experience in customer interaction and customer driven technical support
  • Understanding of portfolio management and metrics to deliver upon profitability
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to interface across business functions within the business
  • Consistent presence in Beloit Innovation and R&D center working closely with key functions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
