Kerry are experts in nutritional & functional technologies with a broad portfolio of taste, emulsifiers, texture and functional ingredients for the food, beverage, meat, meat alternative pharma, animal nutrition and non-food sectors, along with a global manufacturing footprint.
 
To capitalize on the market potential, we are seeking to appoint a high performing Business Development Manager for the North America market who has a core expertise in textured plant proteins and their application in meat alternatives. The candidate will partner with the commercial teams and key strategic partners to expand Kerry’s market presence.

 

Key responsibilities

•    Build pipeline of opportunities and convert to wins.
•    Be a technical subject matter expert in Kerry’s Texture Plant Protein technology portfolio for the NA region encompassing wet and dry extruded protein systems.
•    Research market segments to identify opportunities to grow our technical ingredient business in North America.
•    Develop robust strategic plans to capitalize on the market potential. 
•    Build an awareness of Kerry’s presence in relevant categories by:
•    Being an ambassador & educator internally within the Kerry organization.
•    Develop cross-functional relationships to execute projects.
•    Build strong relationships to drive strategic growth aligned with Kerry’s account management structure.
•    Have a sales mindset while effectively partnering with Kerry’s commercial teams and customers to deliver the forecasted revenue targets and build a robust pipeline within the plant-based meat alternative End Use Market.  
•    Attend trade shows and industry events to generate new leads and gain market insights.
•    Partner with marketing and R&D to ensure sales collateral is tailored for the market and perform insight rich customer presentations.
•    Partner with sales leaders, customers & R&D to define portfolio gaps and drive innovation.
•    Develop market led insights to validate value propositions of the innovation pipeline.
•    Identify anchor customers to partner with on innovation opportunities (product launch targets).
•    Project manage key initiatives to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and prioritizing.

Qualifications and skills

•    Industry knowledge as pertains to dairy and meat alternative protein categories with a good network of contacts.
•    5 years’ experience in Business Development. Business qualified at Master’s level or above will be an advantage.
•    A working knowledge of lipid chemistry will be a distinct advantage.
•    Experience converting technical projects winning with key accounts.
•    Strong ability to work via multiple internal stakeholders in a matrix structure.
•    Commercially driven with an aptitude and track record for delivering business growth.
•    Entrepreneurial spirit and curious mindset to solve problems.
•    This position will require approximately 50% travel.
•    Commercial mindset with effectively partnering with cross functional teams and customers to deliver the forecasted revenue targets and builds a robust pipeline.

Preferred location for the role is close to our HQ in, Wisconsin (commuting distance to Beloit)
