Applied Health and Nutrition

 

The Applied Health and Nutrition (AHN) division presents a remarkable combination of technical capabilities, innovative applications, and consumer insights. AHN supports Kerry’s alignment with industry trends such as nutrition, clean label and food safety while the vast portfolio of advanced technologies serves the food, animal nutrition, biotech, fermentation and pharmaceutical markets. Following a series of acquisitions in the area of fermentation and biotechnology combined with organic growth and ongoing investments, Kerry has an enviable portfolio of enzymes for the food, beverage, pet, animal nutrition sectors etc.

To capitalize on the market potential, we are seeking to hire a remote based high performing Business Development Manager/ Director for the North America market who has a core expertise in enzymes. The candidate will partner with the commercial teams and key strategic partners to expand Kerry’s market presence.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Build pipeline of opportunities and help convert to wins.
  • Be a technical subject matter expert in Kerry’s Enzyme Ingredient portfolio.
  • Research market segments to identify opportunities to grow our enzyme business in NA.
  • Develop robust strategic plans to capitalize on the market potential. 
  • Build an awareness of Kerry’s presence in relevant enzyme categories by:
    • Being a strong ambassador & educator internally within the Kerry organisation.
    • Develop strong relationships with all functions to execute projects.
  • Build strong relationships at the relevant CPG accounts to drive strategic growth in full alignment with Kerry’s global account management structure.
  • Solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship, and direction of the business.
  • Have a strong sales mindset while effectively partnering with Kerry’s commercial teams and customers to deliver the forecasted revenue targets and build a robust pipeline across bakery, beverage, dairy, snack, dietary supplement, and companion animal markets.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to generate new leads and gain market insights.
  • Manage CRM data for assigned accounts and leads.
  • Partner with marketing and R&D to ensure sales collateral is tailored for the market and perform insight rich customer presentations.
  • Continually and pro-actively partner with sales leaders, customers & R&D to drive collaborative innovation, identify solutions and provide direction for the advancement of prioritized innovation platforms.
  • Define portfolio gaps, prioritize areas of focus driven by market insights for commercial success
  • Identify anchor customers to partner with on innovation opportunities (product launch targets).
  • Project manage key initiatives to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and prioritizing appropriately
  • Develop market led insights to validate value propositions of the innovation pipeline.

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Experience converting complex technical projects winning with key CPG & strategic accounts.
  • Strong ability to work via multiple internal stakeholders in a matrix structure.
  • Commercially driven with an aptitude and track record delivering business growth.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and curious mindset to solve problems.
  • Strong execution skills yet displaying the ability to adopt a strategic approach.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years business development experience. Life Science / Business qualified, at Masters level or above will be an advantage.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong insights into the North American functional foods and nutritional supplements category, with excellent industry knowledge as it pertains to enzymes. They should have a strong network of contacts and be recognised as a subject matter expert in the use of enzymes across multiple applications.
  • This position is remote based and will require approximately 70% travel.
