About the role

Performs inventory, shipping, receiving, storage, and general maintenance of warehouse according to quality specifications, good manufacturing practices, plant safety standards and key plant performance measures

Key responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe working environment for warehouse personnel.  Meets safety requirements for safe forklift practices.
  • Provides accurate and timely counts of inventory as required.  Maintain and conduct cycle counts on finished and raw material.
  • Ensures all outgoing shipments are properly prepared and meet required deadlines.
  • Receives incoming material and provides adequate storage utilizing existing storage space. 
  • Inspects incoming materials and containers to ensure that counts and quality meets facility specifications.  Notifies purchasing manager and / or quality assurance manager of any deviations.
  • Provides the manufacturing plant with raw materials, rework and supplies to support 24 hour, 7 day week operations.
  • Maintains oversize and finish inventories.
  • Prepares and records all transactions affecting the inventory.  Maintains accurate log of inventory locations.
  • Provides training and guidance to warehouse personnel where required.  Maintains accurate attendance records for warehouse personnel.
  • Maintains warehouse facility, outside storage areas and shipping dock in a neat, clean and organized manner.
  • Communicates effectively with production, customer service and quality assurance as required.  Notifies supervisor immediately of problems and offers effective solutions to problems.
  • Understands organization goals, production goals and key performance measures.  Understands how the position can affect these goals and measures.
  • Understands and complies with attendance policy, attends work consistently and on-time.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in basic word processing and spreadsheet software use, and data entry. 

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES In conjunction with operations manager, supervises one employee in the Warehouse Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications and skills

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to prioritize tasks and duties appropriate to responsibilities.
