About the role

In this role, you will work closely with Commercial and RDA teams to expand existing sales and develop new business using your technical knowledge of meat processing. Your primary focus will be on selling smoke solutions, but also seek opportunity to promote wider Kerry portfolio for processed meats.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate customers current processing procedures, conduct customer presentations and hands on demonstrations to show benefits of the smoke technology.
  • Conduct product and equipment application trials at customer location.
  • Prepare cost benefit analysis based on customer’s data points.
  • Assist with equipment installation and equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Have thorough understanding of the existing smoke portfolio and ensure its relevance to SEA customers.
  • Write technical reports that summarize the work carried out at customer site to the customer and stakeholders.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree equivalent experience in meat/food science or related field in meat/food processing industries.
  • Upwards of 10 years of experience working in a meat processing plant in one or more areas of processing operations or have been selling ingredients, casings or packaging materials into the meat industry.  
  • The ideal candidate would have detailed knowledge of meat processing including ground, emulsified, restructured and injected products, including ingredient functionality, product formulations and the equipment used to make these products.
  • The ideal candidate would also have working knowledge of smokehouses: thermal processing schedules, (smoking and cooking) as it relates to different meat products.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
