About the role

 

Work Location: Bangkok (Thailand) OR Singapore OR Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

 

Reporting to: VP Enzymes & Animal Nutrition - based in Naas, Ireland 

 

The Applied Health and Nutrition (AH&N) division presents a remarkable combination of technical capabilities, innovative applications, and consumer insight understanding. Animal Performance Solutions - Kerry is building a range of animal feed additives help optimise digestion, nutrient absorption, gut health and support the sustainable and efficient production of feed for Poultry, Swine and Ruminants.

 
The primary role is to drive sales of Kerry’s products into the Poultry, Swine and Ruminant Feed markets by developing opportunities with assigned and prospective accounts. The sales territory consists of Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, but the primary focus will be on South East Asia (SEA) and South West Asia (SWA) for the immediate future. It involves directly managing the sales team in the region as well managing some direct accounts. 


The largest portion of the business will be focused on poultry nutrition, then swine and then ruminant accounts. In the short term some help may also be required to build sales in the Pet Food sector. This may take up to 10% of total time over the next year as Kerry transitions toward dedicated pet personnel in SE Asia.

 
There is some flexibility as to where the candidate is located provided it is within reach of the SEA or SEA customer base, has access to a major airport and can promptly reach the Kerry office in either Bangkok or Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

Key responsibilities

 

•Customer relationships: Establish Kerry as a long-term supplier at target accounts by developing, maintaining and expanding strong customer working relationships at multiple levels and functions. Utilize both direct contact and relevant trade organization events to build relationships
•Manage the Sales Team in the region: Currently, this consists of 2 Sales Managers and will be expanded as the business grows
•Budgets: Participate in development of annual sales budget targets and take appropriate actions to achieve them
•Account Development and Maintenance: Ensure that appropriate resources and actions are recommended to address customer-based issues including competitive threats, product and service complaints and sales erosion
•Sales Growth: Pursue and support long-term divisional growth through the development of overall strategies for the territory. Identify and recommend new technologies and new market opportunities related to customer base
•Strategic Thinking: A good understanding of business strategy is required
•Pipeline & Project Management: Develop and manage project opportunities and ensure communication flow between customer and relevant cross-functional supports areas – Nutrition, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology units, Regulatory, Quality, etc.
•Pricing: agree and implement pricing plans
•Technical Service: Manage and lead technical support functions including new product selection, product research, sales team training and external presentations, literature, webinars etc. Occasionally travel with sales team or distributors to make presentations     

Qualifications and skills

 

•Degree in Poultry or Swine Nutrition, Veterinary or Animal Science, or related qualification is required, preferably with a Master’s degree
•Minimum 5-7 years’ of Monogastric Animal Nutrition experience is a must-have, ideally with experience of working in the SEA and/or SWA region 
•Proven experience in Technical Sales to the Feed Industry along with good people management skills 
•Self-starter with excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
•Strong written and verbal communications skills in English is essential 
•Knowledge of SFDC would be an advantage
•Requires travel up to 30-50% of the time throughout the territory, plus occasional travel to Europe or North America as required
