About the role

A RD&A Senior Scientist is available in Thailand, Bangkok. This position sits in the RDA deparment and the incumbent is responsible for the following:   

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct research for the improvement of existing products and the development of new products, outlining procedures and specifications and ensuring ingredient functionality into the final products fits the purpose of the customer.
  • Responsible for product development from initiation to launch.
  • Interact with process engineers, flavour experts, sales team, marketing and the end use market team, suppliers, manufacturing, customers and packaging to resolve any issues if required.
  • Work on Product Improvement Projects (PIP) opportunities for both Raw Material and Finished products.
  • Develop application knowledge within assigned food categories and become recognised as a solutions partner by food product developers and assist customers with technical issues that may arise.
  • Lead experimental trials by ensuring appropriate documentation of trials and outcomes to facilitate scale up and product transfer to manufacturing
  • Attends trade shows, conferences, scientific meetings and short courses as necessary, presentations to educate customers, students and industry contacts.

Qualifications and skills

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor Science Degree in Food Technology; Food Science or Applied Science
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong understanding of wet culinary products through raw materials, formulating, process and packaging is essential
  • Strong functional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
