About the role

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor will perform core tasks to manage and oversee the day-to-day operation of the QA team and meet the quality KPI.  


The successful candidate will have strong quality knowledge, coach, manage and train team members, and work efficiently with stakeholders to meet tight deadlines.  

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible in executing the overall quality plan to ensure the achievement of quality KPI and performance
  • Manage Quality Assurance of In Process, Finished Goods (FG), trade products to ensure specification compliance
  • Responsible and manage positive release, quarantine and reject products
  • Manage and control GMP & HACCP System
  • Manage & control FG in SAP system including release, reject non-conforming products, etc
  • Review and responsible for non- conforming products such as in process, FG, trade product and perform rework accordingly
  • Manage aging stock e.g. FG, left-over stock etc.
  • Support new product upscale & trial runs including cost saving optimization project.
  • To lead, manage and train a team of QA Officers as well as monitoring and motivating staff performance
  • Perform and manage manpower & team overtime
  • Work collaboratively with colleague to support testing of finish product
  • Support internal audit /customer audit /third party audit when needed
  • Support vendor assessment and complaint investigation
  • To assist in handling customer complaints and take corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Support Traceability /Mock Recall activities
  • Other ad hoc duties assigned by line manager

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree in Food Science or other science disciplines with related manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in food industry (preferred) with Quality Assurance background
  • Familiar with Food Safety Program and Hazard Analysis HACCP, GMP, BRC, food safety & legislation
  • Knowledgeable & excellent experience in Analytical Laboratory Testing including sensory test evaluation, basic of chemical/physical testing and calibration of equipment
  • Candidate with 2-3 years supervisory skills is a must
  • Prior experience in handing and supporting internal and external quality audit is preferred
  • Good communication skills in English both oral and written
  • Equipped with good computer skill
  • Candidate with good initiative, good problem-solving skill and results oriented is preferred
  • A team player with high commitment and able to perform under pressure
  • Accountable for the adherence to and conformance of established quality control procedures, policies and standards at the assigned plant location to ensure the highest quality product and materials necessary to meet customer expectations
  • Should be comfortable working in a fast changing and growing global environment where accountability, quality, timeliness are key components
