At our Baltimore, MA facility we are part of the Fleishman’s Vinegar division and hundreds of different products for Kerry and our retail customers. We have an immediate opening for a 1st shift Maintenance Supervisor. The schedule M-F 8:00am – 4:00 pm.

 

What you'll do:

 

As the Maintenance Supervisor you’ll supervise, and coordinate activities of maintenance employees engaged in all phases of plant maintenance and sanitation. Implement a comprehensive maintenance program for plant equipment including preventive maintenance initiatives.  Direct a variety of maintenance and repair functions on plant machinery including pumps, electric motors, pneumatic valves, and other associated equipment.

 

To include the following:

 

  • Assist in planning of plant maintenance projects.
  • Execute plant projects on time and within budget guidelines
  • Plan and implement a maintenance program for the plant.
  • Supervise plant repairs including basic electrical, plumbing, welding, etc.
  • Plan and execute plant sanitation and housekeeping programs for the maintenance department.
  • Ensure all maintenance actions and programs include and follow appropriate safety procedures.
  • Write MER’s for equipment purchases needed for the plant, submit them to the Superintendent for approval. 
  • Assist in operational process of plant as needed.

 

What you'll need to be successful and safe:

 

  • Certified to repair basic 110/220-volt electrical wiring
  • Certified to repair and maintain instrumentation and low voltage circuits.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and flowcharts.
  • Detail oriented – Ability to catch in consistencies and correct errors.
  • Critical thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems..

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

 

  • 2-year technical school degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related work experience.
  • Journeyman electrical license is a plus.
  • 5 years’ experience minimum in building maintenance and/or machinery repair and supervisory/management role.

 

 REQUIRED SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 

  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrate strong Safety-First attitude.
  • Be proficient with computers including Microsoft Software systems (Word, Excel)
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs.
  • Recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems.
  • Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with Management Team Members and external vendors. Present information clearly and accurately in both written and verbal communication.
