About the role

The primary role of Warehouse Team Lead is to manage and oversee the warehouse and distribution processes.

Key responsibilities

Leadership, Communication and Teamwork

  • Coordinate & oversee warehouse and distribution processes and staff
  • Guide, train & monitor performance of warehouse and distribution staff, providing appropriate and timely feedback
  • Ensure all warehouse & distribution processes and procedures operate efficiently and address any concerns through consultation with relevant staff
  • Ensure effective communication, work cooperatively with work colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment

Warehouse and Distribution

  • Oversee & undertake all day-to-day activities related to goods inwards and outwards
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with freight forwarding organisations
  • Oversee the performance of freight forwarders and appropriately respond when standards are repeatedly not met
  • Ensure customer orders are delivered within specified timeframes
  • Communicate any variations in the delivery of products Warehouse Manager in a timely manner
  • Check product labels for obvious errors
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is accurate and complete for dispatched goods
  • Contribute to the management of and participation in stock takes and cycle counts in conjunction with other staff members
  • Undertake housekeeping in the warehouse and distribution area
  • Comply with Food Safety requirements
  • Attend & contribute to staff meetings as required
  • Carry out any other duties as required to contribute to the Kerry Auckland Business Objectives

WH&S Policies and Procedures

  • Assist as required all aspects of WH&S which relate to warehousing & distribution and ensure work processes and systems are fully compliant
  • Report any WH&S concerns to the Warehouse Manager and/or safety representatives
  • Perform duties in safe and responsible manner in accordance with Kerry Health and Safety Policies
Qualifications and skills
  • Minimum 5 years warehouse operations experience
  • Excellent communication & people management skills
  • Enjoys working in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Able to multi-task in an environment with changing priorities
  • Competent and Certified forklift operator
  • Experience in warehouse computer system – ideally SAP
