About the role

In this role as of Quality Manager - Auckland, you will oversee all matters related to quality assurance, planning, implementing and maintaining product quality - raw materials, in-line and finished products.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing and maintaining product quality improvement programs and encouraging and motivating personnel to contribute and actively participate in these programs
  • Oversee all quality assurance matters with regards to manpower and product quality improvement planning to meet company goals
  • Preparing the company in meeting new regulations and quality standards that the company may choose to implement
  • Monitor and motivate employee performance and develop or upgrade their skills / knowledge
  • Responsible to see that the company complies with quality and HACCP standards and maintain continued certification of the quality and HACCP systems implemented by the company
  • Implement company HSE initiatives and report progress to the functional lead in Singapore
  • Prepare, oversee and participate in customer, quality and environmental audits
  • Initiate the productivity and quality improvement projects together with the other departments
  • Formulate, be in charge and lead the system for the recording evaluation and processing of customer complaints on product quality
  • To ensure the reliability and functionality of the QA Laboratory
  • Responsible for all aspects of quality control activities of raw materials, in-line and finished products
  • Implement approved quality standards and specifications
  • To assist in improving the food safety and technical knowledge of employees, distributors and customers in relation to products
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities as required

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree in Food Science/Technology or related discipline
  • Working knowledge of food laws – must have prior relevant experience in the food industry
  • Understanding of product certification programs such as Kosher, Halal and Organic
  • Understanding policies related to international products
  • Understanding of best practice
  • Understands aspects of TQM i.e. that quality goes beyond the product itself
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22K, HACCP, SPC and AIB product safety systems
  • Understands and champions GMP and GLP requirements
  • Strong Allergen awareness
  • Knowledge of food and facility security requirements
  • Knows how to set up and execute compliance systems
  • Knowledge of developing standard operating procedures
