About the role

This position will report to the Director, North America Sanitation. It will require a flexible schedule with up to 80% travel, providing support to manufacturing operations during varied AM and PM plant operations schedules. Some travel outside the United States and Canada may be required.

Having a passion for Food Safety through Sanitation, demonstrated interpersonal and team influence skills; the Corporate Sanitarian will function as the sanitation expert for the Kerry U.S. and Canadian operations.

What would you do?

  • Help sites improve their SSOP’s and MSS in alignment with global standard and practical insight on effective sanitation and documentation
  • Provide on-site guidance to overcome complex sanitation challenges based on directed priorities
  • Build relationships with corporate providers of pest control and chemical cleaning solutions to maximize leverage in support of sites.
  • Drive Food Safety risk reduction by providing technical support and guidance to manufacturing sites to develop world class validated sanitation systems with verification critical factors for reliability.
  • Create relationships with manufacturing business units and manufacturing sites to integrate robust sanitation practices into plant operations. Use these relationships to provide learning and transfer of industry best practices and innovation for wet and dry cleaning, microbiological and allergen control within all zones of the plant environment.
  • Provide consult to facilities for stored product pest management and facility pest control.
  • Develop sanitation training and assist with regional Kerry Sanitation for Food Safety course development and delivery
  • Conduct facility sanitation audits; assist with risk based gap prioritization and support corrective action to enable compliance to Kerry Central policy

What will you need to be successful?

  • Minimum of 5 years of Sanitation, Food Safety leadership in an Operations Quality role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology or related disciplines.
  • Good communication skills, effective in building partnerships with sanitation operatives, engineering, and site leaders.
  • Technical knowledge and hands on experience with soil identification/chemical selection, dry clean methods, COP, CIP, Pest control, stored pest management and verifications with ATP & microbiological indicators.
  • Experience monitoring and controlling environmental pathogens and allergens.
  • Leadership for compliance of GMP and other requirements of FDA, USDA, state and local agencies in a plant role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process appropriate sanitary design and sanitation systems design.
  • Auditing and team corrective action process experience.
  • Experience with development of prerequisite programs, HACCP, Hazard analysis, risk assessments with teams.
  • Collaboration with plant teams to develop verifiable SSOP’s and MSS.
  • Investigation techniques to identify cause for reduced shelf life or pathogen risk.
  • Willingness to partner cross-functionally to incorporate human safety and sustainability into all sanitation systems.
