About the role

Here at Kerry, we're currently recruiting for an exciting position of Account Manager, for Meats on a full time, permanent basis. This position is homebased with regular travel in the designated territory, so the the ideal candidate will be based in Scandinavia, with a preference towards Sweden. 

 

As an Account Manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of selected accounts, as the “one face” of Kerry to the customer and is therefore responsible for selling all relevant Kerry technologies in MEAT End Use Market with primarily focus on Taste, Food Protection and Meat Alternative space. You will support sustainable profitability for Kerry through developing and executing a strategic plan based on a deep understanding of customer portfolio (i.e. selected target customer group across Scandinavian region).

Key responsibilities

  • Support and implement the corporate strategy within the client portfolio 
  • Drive business from targeted accounts through a combination of face-to-face visits, teleconferences (internal and external), technical discussions and symposiums 
  • Map key contacts, decision makers, organizational structure, procedures, policies, and molecule/new product pipelines within Target Accounts 
  • Identify, qualify, and close profitable opportunities for our Taste & Nutrition offering. Utilize Cross-selling and Up-selling in order to achieve the target 
  • Lead all open sales opportunities and act as a focal for internal and external interactions 
  • Successfully manage and deliver against individual and team sales targets with specified area of responsibility (e.g. region, strategic accounts) 
  • Understand customer’s business, their needs and goals and identify potential new business 
  • Identify market and competitor activity, product and industry developments and feedback this information to Sales Leadership. 
  • Use market intelligence to open up new channels of sales 
  • Measure and communicate progress against annual targets via accurate and timely reporting and forecasting. Identify gaps and develop a remediation plan as needed 
  • Identify general areas for improvements to maximize customer satisfaction & efficiencies, streamline processes, increase sales, improve delivery and product availability etc. 
  • Work collaboratively with all colleagues globally to best position Kerry as their global business partner 
  • Drive negotiation of commercial agreements and contracts 

Qualifications and skills

  • University degree in Food or related Sciences like Biology, Chemistry, or similar 
  • Excellent commercial skills around contract negotiations & closing skills 
  • Strong Commercial effectiveness – ability to understand customer needs, decide strategy and then negotiate large and/or complex deals including implementation of contracts 
  • Ability to communicate customer and market needs to colleagues and to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines 
  • Good working knowledge of food science and how it relates to product development and its commercialisation. 
  • Sales / customer-facing RDA experience, where your technical capability has actively contributed to winning new business ideally within the Food Space
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts, further language skills, i.e. Swedish and English  
  • Full driving license - Travels across Scandinavia and other parts of Europe
