Kerry’s Northern Europe Region includes Germany, Austria, Switzerland, BeNeLux and Scandinavia. Our B2B business covers a number of end use markets within the Retail sector, including Meat, Bakery, Beverages, Confectionary, Dairy and Savoury. Kerry also operates a strong Foodservice business – working with some of the world’s leading foodservice operators creating bespoke customer solutions and with our own portfolio of brands.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager for the Region, and working closely with the territory’s sales team, the position of Commercial Marketing Manager combines Market Research, Consumer Insight, Strategic Planning and B2B Marketing Communications responsibilities, with a focus on Scandinavia & BeNeLux.

The role will be home-office based in the Netherlands, ideally in the Amsterdam region or alternatively in our office in Hochheim, Germany. Frequent travel (up to 40%) will be required.

This role provides direction and business guidance to regional Kerry sales teams through the coordination and preparation of important customer engagements, trade exhibitions, marketing materials, and trade advertising. The Marketing Manager also contributes to strategic planning in the region with local market insight, and knowledge of the country’s food ingredients, foodservice and consumer food sectors.

Key responsibilities

  • Network and collaborate across multiple Kerry functions to create and execute a marketing strategy for Kerry’s Taste & Nutrition technologies across the territory.
  • Build a detailed understanding of consumer trends, market players, industry dynamics and customer challenges across all relevant food and beverage categories and channels in the region.
  • Collaborate with EUM and Technology marketing teams in preparing marketing activation plans and the creation of best-in-class collateral for customer engagement.
  • Ensure that Kerry’s differentiated value propositions are clearly tailored and communicated to selected customers.
  • Provide insight and marketing input into concept ideation for specific strategic and customer-focused initiatives.
  • Build and strengthen the Kerry brand and reputation in the territory through execution of regional marketing activation campaigns and local communication initiatives.
  • Coordinate the preparation for important customer meetings at our Global Technology & Innovation centre, at our regional technical centres and at customer locations in the designated region.
  • Actively facilitate the sharing of knowledge, insight, success stories and other information across the sales and marketing teams within the region and with other regional marketing teams.
  • Prepare reports and make recommendations to management regarding strategic initiatives, market issues, challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in marketing, business, food science, or related field.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in strategic marketing, ideally in a B2B environment in the food and beverage industry.
  • Must be fluent in English and native speaker of Dutch
