About the role

The Quality system specialist reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the facility's quality management systems and performs other quality assurance tasks as necessary to meet the applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigate and Resolve Issues: Collaborate with the QA team to investigate product nonconformances, customer complaints, and operational issues. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with follow-up verification.
  • Training and Coordination: Develop, train, and coordinate schedules for QA technicians.
  • Certification Support: Plan and support activities related to FSSC and SQF Certification. Serve as the SQF practitioner for the plant.
  • Quality Management: Work closely with all staff to ensure the quality management system is understood, implemented, and maintained.
  • Document Control: Manage the facility's documented control program and support internal and external audit programs.
  • Audit Assistance: Assist with internal, external, and customer audit preparation, findings, and investigations.
  • Facility Inspections: Facilitate facility inspections related to food safety and quality.
  • Program Review: Review and update site quality and quality systems programs. Escalate issues and concerns regarding food safety and quality programs.
  • Reporting: Provide daily/weekly task reports to the Quality Supervisor. Complete special assignments as assigned.
  • Support and Compliance: Support product non-conformance investigations, customer complaint resolutions, and other operational issues. Assist with product release of finished goods and raw materials, ensuring document compliance.
  • Intelex Support: Enhance site Intelex effectiveness and usage.
  • Documentation: Update plant-specific work instructions, policies, and procedures related to food safety and quality. Generate certificates of analysis upon request for shipment.

Qualifications and skills

Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for previous quality systems experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ERP Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MAPICS) is a plus.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $62,906 to $95,074 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.  In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
