Where will you work?

We’re in the snacks division and our main focus is on powdered cheese production through dry blending and spray dry technology. Our finished goods are sold to our customers to be used in various applications including chips, popcorn, mac n’ cheese, alfredo sauces and many more. What will you do?

Main Objective
Lead and direct your team to achieve shift production targets while maintaining a safe and efficient operation and producing products that meet or exceed our quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production activities with warehouse, maintenance, and quality control departments to achieve sustained efficiencies while staying in compliance with existing / new policies and procedures.
  • Meet production plan; negotiate or justify any changes to plan.
  • Identify and manage the resources (people, materials, equipment and capital) needed for efficient production.
  • Daily tasks for the position of Production Supervisor include, but are not limited to, personnel scheduling, conducting regular visual line checks to ensure proper production, dating, labelling, and packaging of product, reviewing production paperwork, collecting and tracking production data, and reporting information and variances to management.
  • Ability to analyze situations that arise outside of normal direct responsibility and make decisions how to proceed (including contacting other members of site management team as necessary).
  • May need to directly communicate with local regulatory, safety and health authorities in the event of a plant emergency. Responsible to make decisions to send employees for treatment in a medical emergency.
  • Act as communication link between company, leads and crew.
  • Identify and eliminate safety hazards; monitor crew member’s safety practices and adherence to policies. Leads will help with this process.
  • Delegate to Production Leads responsibility and resources needed to meet production goals; if necessary, assign jobs to crew members.
  • Evaluate crew members performance and progress, and communicate that to the leads and appropriate crew members.
  • Coach and mentor Leads and help them empower crew members.
  • Select, orient and integrate new employees into crew, Operations and Kerry.
  • Advise Production Lead of technical problems.
  • Lead technical problem-solving and process improvement efforts.
  • Review, evaluate and document shift performance and issues.
  • Enter payroll exceptions into computer for crew members.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience at a supervisor level (minimum 4 years).
  • Food manufacturing experience highly desirable but open to other industry manufacturing experience.
  • Good experience with MS Office with SAP as a nice to have.
  • Ability to manage, train and develop employees.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and delegating functions.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $64,479 to $95,074 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
