About the role

Key responsibilities

  1. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the HSE Lead is responsible for the management of customer visits, including;

    • Hosting the visits & factory tours

    • Agreeing and implementing factory actions

    • Decision close out

    • The sharing of learnings across the site and group

  2. Responsible for the confirmation of standards as part of Quality Internal Audits

  3. Responsible for the Implementation and Maintanence of Standards in the area of:

    • Document Control

    • Work instructions

  4. Responsible for QSHE Legislation and Group Standards as well as Regional QSHE KPI Setting & Execution as part of Strategic Planning. 

  5. Fully responsible for resolving issues such as incidents, near misses, CAPEX, and OCC health. 

  6. The HSE Lead is responsible for the Behavioural Based Safety of the site team.

  7. Responsible for the management of legal requirements.

  8. The HSE Lead is also responsible for the Risk Management/Compliance processes as part of Health & Safety Risk Management.

  9. Fully responsible for the confirmation of standards such as Audit Management, Auditing KMS/LIFE, and Change Management

  10.  Development of standards including Standard Development Change and Safety. 

  11.  In the area of Sustainability, the HSE Lead is responsible for Environmental, Waste and Energy Compliance and Sustainability Trending. 

  12.  Responsible for energy baselining such as setting targets and KPI tracking in the area of Energy Efficiency.

  13.  In the area of Standard Confirmation (Internal & External) – Management of Auditing Programme – the HSE Lead is accountable for third party external food safety, customer, claims and ethical audits.

  14.  Accountable for Completing of incident investigation, Esclation of Incident, Completing Incident Investigations on Intelex (RCA CAPA), Near miss Reporting, Decisions in closing near misses – in the area of Issue Resolution

  15.  The HSE Lead is also accountable for the following, in insuring Health & Safety legal requirements are met

  16.  Accountable for elements in Health & Safety Risk management including the deployment of LIFE Fundamentals as part of Risk Management and Compliance.

  17.  Accountable for elements of the following overarching processes

  18.  In the area of developing standards, the HSE Lead is accountable for the development of Safety Standards such as Emergency response procedures and the issuing of Permits.

  19.  Accountable for Energy Transformation and Waste Management processes.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (Preferably in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field)

  • CSP Certification is Preferred

  • 3 + years of experience with HSE regulations including OSHA, EPA, and local requirements.

  • 3+ years of experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI

  • Experience engaging employees and developing a strong safety culture. Ae you an influencer?

  • Intermediate to advanced Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Food/beverage/pharma manufacturing industry experience preferred
