About the role

Reporting into the Integrated Operations Lead for ANZ (and dotted line to VP Procurement APMEA); this role will have the overall accountability for Procurement activities for ANZ. The role will cover both directs and indirect categories and will be well supported from the Regional APMEA Procurement Team. In this role, the successful candidate is expected to agree and implement strategic sourcing activities, in collaboration with the APMEA Regional Sourcing team, with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining / improving service quality and vendor service levels. This role will also own in totality, specific buying categories for our plants in ANZ.

 

To ensure its linkage and connectivity to the business, the role will require close collaboration and positive relationship building cross-functionally in Kerry, particularly with the ANZ Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance and RD&A team to deliver key strategies for sustainable growth.

 

The preferred location for this role is at Kerry's manufacturing site in Brisbane; however, we can consider basing the role out of our sales office at Bella Vista, Sydney, with frequent travel to Brisbane. 

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with APMEA Regional Category Team to develop, plan and execute regional sourcing strategies across ANZ.
  • Procurement of selected (other than regional scope) Raw Materials and Indirect Services required by the Business on time, cost efficiently and meeting the Business needs.
  • Build and own key Strategic Supplier relationships within ANZ.
  • Track and analyse performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact on technology and/or country P&L.
  • Lead local vendor selection and negotiation process for all ANZ regional vendors.
  • Drives the PIPs program to ensure that the cost savings target is met in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with counterparts on APMEA Regional and Global team on tenders and projects where appropriate.
  • Recruits and maintains suppliers who will provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain day to day relationships with suppliers, including establishing supplier performance measures, conducting regular reviews focused on achieving “service performance and deal delivery”.
  • Provide local market intelligence including documented sourcing analyses, supply scenario comparisons and supplier research.
  • Analyze spend patterns across the region and provide constructive challenge to stakeholders on their spending decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in the region to implement category-sourcing initiatives.
  • Perform end-to-end activities relevant to procurement for the ANZ Region in close collaboration with the Regional APMEA Team: .
    • Negotiates requests for services with vendors.
    • Ensures categories are contracted in line with the sourcing strategy.
    • Prepares and issues purchase contracts and change notices.
    • Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications.
    • Develops and utilizes a system to evaluate vendor quotations with the appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery and service.
    • Directly solves operational issues with vendors.
    • Reviews and resolves vendor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
    • Capture real savings in the region.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a relevant field
  • APICS/CIPS Certification will be a plus
  • A minimum of 8 years of procurement experience in relevant setting / categories with an overall strong experience within a manufacturing industry / environment in ANZ
  • Background in food industry within ANZ will be strongly preferred, with experience dealing with the procurement of direct raw materials (ingredients & flavours)
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment is advantageous due to the interconnectivity with regional and global category management teams
