About the role

Our Niagara Falls, NY location is part of our Applied Health & Nutrition Division and is a leading producer of organic salts, including propionates and acetates, serving the Pharmaceutical, Food, Feed and Technical industries. The products we make fill vital needs in a broad range of applications that are essential to everyday life including food and feed preservation. 

 

As an Engineering Manager specializing in Chemical Process, you will lead a team of talented engineers and oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative processes that drive our organization forward. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our future projects, optimizing operations, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Drive the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance chemical processes, optimize production, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of new process units, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Operations, and other departments to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices and technologies to drive operational excellence.
  • Act as a technical expert and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges, leveraging your extensive experience in chemical processes.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field is required.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in team management roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of chemical processes, unit operations, and process safety principles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in all aspects of engineering operations.
  • Problem solving, cost estimating, decision making, prioritization, team building, office PC software, hazard evaluation, development of P&ID’s and PFD’s.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $140,000 to $190,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.  In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
